Dr. Linda Lowes

Dr. Linda Lowes is a research scientist and physical therapist.

Her professional mission is to conduct translational research to advance the development of therapeutics for rare diseases.

She works to facilitate definitive clinical trial results by providing longitudinal natural history data that generate data-driven decisions on study design and evidence-based care guidelines to improve patient wellbeing. Her research involves investigating current outcome measures and, if needed, developing new measures.

She has worked collaboratively on several new outcomes for neuromuscular disorders to help provide valid and reliable data for clinical trials and measurement for clinical management.

As part of the Research Institute of Nationwide Children’s Hospital she has played an integral role in the testing and FDA approval of the first gene therapy treatments for Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

She received her physical therapy degree from The Ohio State University and her PhD from Hahnemann University (now Drexel University).
